Bursa is one of the richest cities in Turkey in terms of touristic attractions and activities. From the warm waters of thermal spas to chilling peaks of ski resorts of Uludag, Bursa has an immense range of experiences to offer.
The tour package includes the below steps, but you can customise your trip by letting your driver know which places you want to see. Your driver will be knowledgeable about the areas you will be visiting, so you can also ask him for a little info about each of your stops along the way. 1. The Pick-up
Your designated driver will pick you up from your desired location in Istanbul and you will start your journey to Bursa. The ride to Bursa will take around 2 hours.
2. Bursa Centre
Upon arrival at Bursa, your first stop will be the city centre. There is a wide range of stores in Bursa centre as well as authentic restaurants and cafes. Bursa, which is located on the famous and historical Silk Road, is known for its production and crafting of silk. You can find various silk stores in the city centre to admire the mastery at work.
After the city centre, you will head to your first place of choice: Uludag mountain or the famous Bursa Cable Car. The ride to Uludag mountain or the cable car will both take around 1 hour.
3. Uludag Mountain / Cable Car
Uludag Mountain is one of the most visited winter sports centres in Turkey. With a high number of resorts and hotels as well as skiing routes, Uludag is an internationally renowned ski mountain.
Bursa cable car line is the first of its kind in Turkey. Built-in 1963, the line is the longest cable car ride to this day with 9 kms length. The ride is the perfect setting to enjoy the scenery of Bursa and the cityscape.
Following your visit to one of the above-mentioned attractions, you will head to Ulu Camii, which is located at an hour drive’s distance from Uludag and cable cars.
4. Ulu Camii
Built between the years 1396-1400, Ulu Camii is the first mosque to have had multiple domes; the mosque has an astonishing number of 20 domes on its main ceiling and it is the largest of its kind in Turkey.
Following Ulu Camii, you will head to Yesil Camii. The ride from Ulu Camii to Yesil Camii will take around 10 minutes.
5. Yesil Camii
As one of the finest examples of “reverse T” plan mosques, Yesil Camii holds an important position among the mosques in Turkey. The gazebo in the front yard of the mosque is considered one of the peak works of Turkish stone carving craft.
After Yesil Camii, you will head to Cumalikizik village with a 15-minute drive.
6. Cumalikizik Village
Cumalikizik is a living and breathing example of Ottoman history. Built and inhabited in the Ottoman time, most residential structures in the village are still faithful to their origin. The village is a beautiful and serene place to visit for a walk and breakfast or lunch.
You can also visit the tombs of Osman Gazi, the founder of the Ottoman Empire, as well as the tomb of Orhan Gazi, son of Osman Gazi. While the original tombs were destroyed in an earthquake in the year 1855, these structures were built in the same fashion and are open for visitors today as a piece of history.
After Cumalikizik, you will be taking a lunch break and you will head to Saitabat Waterfall with a 25-minute drive.
7. Saitabat Waterfall
Located in a graceful shelter of rocks and boulders, Saitabat Waterfall is a natural wonder of Bursa. The waterfall is formed by the melting snow and ice that pours down from Uludag. Saitabat Waterfall is a great place to visit if you’re looking for a peaceful and fun walk with a mesmerising sight at the end.
After Saitabat Waterfall, you will start your journey back to Istanbul, which will take around 2 hours.
Your designated driver will drop you at your desired location once you arrive in Istanbul.
