The airport is located in the north of Istanbul and spreads over an area of 76,5 million square meters, making it the largest of its kind in Turkey. Bakirkoy is a large district on the European side of Istanbul, residing on the coast of Marmara Sea. The area is mainly populated with residential buildings but it’s also a prominent part of the city for shopping and sightseeing. The distance from Istanbul Airport to Bakirkoy is about 45 kms. Travelling by taxi takes around 1 hour depending on the traffic, while a shuttle would take around 2 hours. Shuttle buses are also available as a budget-friendly option from Istanbul Airport to Bakirkoy. Coded IST-4, the shuttle for Bakirkoy costs 3€ and takes about 2 hours to reach its destination. There is a new shuttle every 25 minutes in the daytime and every 40 minutes after midnight.

A shuttle bus takes around 2 hours from Istanbul Airport to Bakirkoy.
Unfortunately, the metro is not available at Istanbul Airport yet. You can take a bus or taxi to Ataturk Airport from Istanbul Airport and use the metro but it wouldn’t be optimal in cost and timing-wise.
A regular yellow taxi will cost around 20-25€ to Bakirkoy in mild traffic.
